This year our Parent and Cub Camp will once again be held at Thriftwood in Brentwood.
This is our annual weekend outdoor camp where all cubs and parents are invited, although any cub whose parent is unable to attend is still very welcome.
The cubs sleep together in six-person tents and not in their parents tents (parents sleep in their own tents in an adjoining field). The camp will have its usual format with “Romans” as this year’s theme and the cubs, with their parents, will be working in sixes together. As usual there will be an inter-six competition for the cubs and their parents, which in previous years has been a close and rigorously fought affair.

Where: Thriftwood Scout Campsite
We have planned a Cub Indoor Weekend Winter Camp, 28th to 30th November 2025, at Thriftwood Scout Campsite, Orchard Avenue, Brentwood, Essex, CM13 2DP. We will be staying in Oak Lodge, a centrally heated, purpose-built building with 6 and 4 bed dormitories, hall, large kitchen, showers and toilets.

During the weekend various activities will take place, both indoors and outdoors. We usually cover quite a lot of badge work and run outdoor activities including ??, ?? and shelter/den building. Indoors, the cubs’ creative skills are challenged with creative activities and games. This is a great opportunity for Cubs to experience challenging activities in a safe environment. This also is an ideal nights away event for cubs attending for the first time. Our theme this year is “??”.
