Mon 26th Feb (7:45pm - 9:30pm) PARENT HELP AT SCOUT MEETINGS Where: All Saints and Woodford locality DRAFT EMAIL - IS THIPARENT HELP REQUIRED ON 26 FEB. AND 4 MARCH 7.45pm - 9.30pm
We are planning to take 3 Patrols outdoors on each of these dates to go on a Treasure Trail around the Woodford locality. Each week we will be running an indoor meeting for the remaining 3 Patrols in the Hall.
In order to have sufficient general adult supervision with each of the Patrols, we will need to have a parent to accompany the Leader so that there will be 2 adults with each Patrol - probably following them rather than telling them where to go.
If you can help on either or both of the dates, please tick the "Yes" reply on the parent Portal and then enter your name in either or both the columns. Once we have the responses we will contact you to let you know if you will be required.
Kind regards
Scout Leaders

Sun 21st Apr (8:00am - 5:30pm) District Activity Day Where: Gilwell Park Waltham Abbey Scouts & Explorers Sunday 21st April 2024
Location: Gilwell Park Cost: £16.00
100’s of scouts and Explorers from across Redbridge District will come together for a day of fun and activities.
St. George is the Patron Saint of Scouting and during the day we will celebrate St. George’s Day in the traditional way by renewing our Scout Promise.
Once again we will unfortunately have to limit the number of Scouts and Young Leaders taking part as we are limited by the number of Volunterr leaders available to supervise our YP and help run the event.
As always any parent volunteers who could offer to help would be much appreciated.
Arrival and Departure times
There will be 100s of young people attending the event so Arrivals and Departures will be staggered so that the site can cope with the expected level of traffic. The 36th will advise EXACT arrival times once we are notified! But be prepared likely to be between 8:00 and 9:00

Fri 17th (4:15pm) to Sun 19th May (7:00pm) offshore sailing weekend 24 Where: Yachts Thermopylae and Discovery Hi All
After 2023's very successful joint cruise with the 4th (Bancroft's sea scouts) we have again booked to take part in a weekend afloat on Thermopylae a 60" Clipper, and the Discovery a 47" yachtl, in or around the Solent, again taking 8 scouts from each troop.
These are professionally crewed boats, staffed by fully qualified (Scouting and RYA commercial Royal Yacht Association qualifications) skippers.
We will take two 36th leaders and two from the 4th.
We can offer only eight places split over the Thermopylae Clipper and Discovery with the other 8 places going to the 4th's scouts we will be mixing crews!
The cost in 2023 was £165 per head, however there will almost certainly be a further increase which so possibly around £170.00, but would include berth fee, food, use of suitable waterproofs, moorings and fuel, as well as transport on the scout minibus, the only additional cost would be personal spending money. We will confirm the price ...

Fri 23rd (12:00am) to Sat 31st Aug (11:59pm) 2024 Summer camp Guernsey Where: Les Maingys Scout Campsite We now know the ferry timetable and have a provisional booking for the summer camp in place, to help cost and plan the camp I would like an early indication of how many Scouts and Young Leaders are interested in taking part.
At this stage expressing an interest whether yes, no or not sure, will not commit any one to take part, I will send out further communications in January asking for an initial deposit to confirm your child's place.
There is a high likelihood that we will not be able to take all who may wish to take part as we will obviously have to limit the number of attendees to the number of seats in our vehicles.
